The Frontier Center for the Performing Arts celebrates its grand opening
After nearly a decade of planning, partnership, and community investment, the Frontier Center for the Performing Arts has officially entered a new era, and Frontier Credit Union is proud to be part of its story.
Originally built in the 1950s as the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium, the Frontier Center has long served as a gathering place for Bonneville County’s families, students, artists, performers, and community organizations. From Broadway productions and symphony performances to graduations and dance recitals, generations of Idahoans have created memories within its walls.
Today, thanks to years of collaboration between the City of Idaho Falls, community leaders, philanthropic organizations, and Frontier Credit Union, the newly transformed Frontier Center for the Performing Arts is ready to serve the community for decades to come.
The recently completed Phase II expansion included a dramatic transformation of the facility’s public spaces, featuring:
- A newly expanded 6,600-square-foot lobby
- Redesigned exterior entrances and improved guest flow
- Enhanced accessibility features
- 27 ADA-compliant restrooms
- Modernized gathering spaces designed to better serve audiences and performers alike
Frontier Credit Union’s $4.4 million investment helped bring the vision to life and secured naming rights for the venue for the next 50 years.
For Frontier Credit Union, this project represents far more than a building renovation. It reflects our mission of Building Better Lives and our belief that strong communities are built through connection, opportunity, and shared experiences.
The completion of the Frontier Center also highlights what makes our communities special: people coming together to invest in the future. The project was made possible through a combination of public support, private philanthropy, volunteer leadership, and a shared commitment to preserving one of the region’s most important cultural landmarks.
As Idaho Falls continues to grow, spaces like the Frontier Center play an important role in enriching quality of life, supporting local arts and education, attracting visitors, and creating opportunities for community connection.
We are honored to help write the next chapter of this incredible venue and look forward to the performances, celebrations, and memories that will continue to unfold on its stage for generations to come.
