East Idaho Credit Union broke ground on a new branch in Meridian on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023. East Idaho Credit Union was established in 1935 originally serving the postal community then quickly moving into serving all of East Idaho. East Idaho Credit Union has stood strong through many economic struggles in our country and continues to be a pillar of strength for its members. Over the past 12 months, East Idaho Credit Union has been the fastest-growing credit union in Idaho.

On Tuesday local leaders expressed their excitement for the growing credit union to plan roots in Meridian. Sean Evans, President and CEO of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce, stated “We are so pleased that (East Idaho Credit Union) is choosing Meridian as their expansion location.” Along with Sean Evans, Mayor Simison, the Mayor of Meridian, stated “Being from East Idaho myself, I think it’s great when all things East Idaho put roots in the Treasure Valley. We really appreciate the fact that you’ve chosen Meridian, it’s the smartest business decision you will ever make.”

East Idaho’s CEO, Dan Thurman, expressed his excitement to move into Meridian. Thurman stated “Meridian is a central point for the Treasure Valley, and such a beautiful area. We have strong roots in the Treasure Valley, and we are excited about it.”
