East Idaho Credit Union Takes 2nd in Best Places to Work in Idaho
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, May 7, 2020 – For the third straight year, East Idaho Credit Union has placed in the top three of the Best Places to Work in Idaho, taking second place in the large employers category.
“We are so happy to be recognized statewide as one of the best places to work,” said Dan Thurman, East Idaho Credit Union’s president and CEO. “It’s amazing to see the culture we’ve built and the welcoming environment we’ve developed for our employees.”
The local credit union based in Idaho Falls took the second place prize at the 2020 awards announced Thursday afternoon. This marks the sixth straight year East Idaho Credit Union has been recognized as one of the best places to work in Idaho. They placed first in 2019 and 2018, were fourth in 2017 and took home honorable mention honors in 2016 and 2015.
More than just table tennis, dart boards and free coffee for employees, East Idaho Credit Union has built a winning culture for their 121 employees that translates to outstanding service for their 33,000 members.
“We have Nerf wars, too,” jokes Thurman. “In all seriousness, we focus a lot on employee engagement and doing the right thing for them and our members. We are truly honored to be recognized again this year.”
Honorees of the Best Places to Work in Idaho are determined by their employee satisfaction and feedback. Honorees are chosen in each of the five size categories based on workforce size: micro (10 – 19 employees), small (20 – 49), medium (50 – 99), large (100-249), and macro (250 and more). East Idaho Credit Union was founded in Idaho in 1935 in the midst of the Great Depression, first to serve federal employees at the Idaho Falls Post Office and now those who live, work or attend school in an 11 county region of Eastern Idaho.
