Frontier’s 30th Annual Coins for Christmas Program
Every year since 1987 East Idaho Credit Union has administered the Coins for Christmas program.
The Coins for Christmas program was designed as a way to help raise money for children in need. Every year around Christmas, Frontier drops off coin jugs in local elementary schools where students are encouraged to donate their spare Quarters, Nickels, Dimes and Pennies to help students (possibly students from their own school) who need a new pair of shoes.
East Idaho Credit Union spends its time, money, and resources to help make sure that the event goes as smooth as possible. Every single year we give out hundreds of pairs of shoes to children in the local community.
Since January, 2016 East Idaho Credit Union has spent over $18,947 and given out more than 824 pairs of shoes. We can’t thank the community and sponsors that help make this successful each and every year. A huge shout-out to one of our biggest sponsors, Z103, who has been involved in this program for many years. Also, a special thank you to AlphaGraphics in Idaho Falls for donating much of their time and personal resources to help the program do what it was designed to do.
Want to get involved?
There is no reason that you or your children should feel obligated to participate in this program. But if you have some spare coins that you want to give to a good cause, we would be happy to facilitate the process. There are numerous ways to donate, but the easiest way is to:
- Bring your coins into one of our local branches and let them know that you would like to donate it to the Coins for Christmas program so that money can go towards a new pair of shoes for a child.
